How to Enable WhatsApp Popup Notification in Android

By default, popup notification in WhatsApp is disabled.

If you wish, you can enable it for individual and all chats. Let’s see how to do these tasks on an Android Phone.

Enable Popup Notification for Individual Chat

Note: The following steps are the same for the group chat too.

Open WhatsApp.

Hit the chat of a contact for which you want to turn on popup notification.

Tap the name at the top.

Between the “Mute notifications” and “Media visibility,” you can see “Custom notifications.” Hit it.

Hit “Use custom notifications.”

Under “Message notifications,” you can see “Popup notification.” Tap it.

In the popup, select the one you prefer (of course, except “No popup”). If you’re not aware what the options in the popup do, then please refer to the next section in this post where I’ve talked in detail.

Selected Always show popup option
  • Save

That’s it. All done.

If you want to revert, then turn off “Use custom notifications.”
