WhatsApp’s “Email chat” feature lets you email WhatsApp chat of a contact or group to yourself or others. Let’s see this in detail.
Email WhatsApp Chat in Android
Tap contact or group chat that you want to email.
Tap the overflow menu (three vertical dots) at the top.
Tap “More.” Hit the “Export chat” option which you can find above “Add shortcut.”
Now, you may see a pop up with these two options.
Without Media – If you choose this option, the email will contain the chat history (which can have up to 40,000 messages in this case) only.
Include Media – If you choose this option, the email will contain both the chat history (which can have up to 10,000 latest messages in this case) and the media attachments.
Choose the option as per your wish. In this instance, I’m choosing the “Include Media” option.
Choose the email app; In this instance, I’m choosing the “Gmail” app.
Now, you should be on the “Compose” screen. Type the email address of the recipient in the “To” field and hit the “Send” icon.
That’s it. All done.
Keep in mind that the chat history will be in the text file format (.txt), and the attachments will be in the same file format as they were received.
