How to Add Website Shortcut to Android or iPhone Home Screen

You can add a website shortcut to your Android (I’m using Android Pie) or iPhone home screen and here’s how:

Chrome for Android

Steps

  1. Open the website you wish in the Chrome app.

  2. Hit Overflow Menu (three vertical dots) at the top. Between “Find in page” and “Desktop site,” you can see the “Add to Home screen” option. Hit it.

  3. In the pop-up, edit the shortcut name if you wish and then tap “Add.”

  4. Now, if you want to place the shortcut to the home screen manually, use the icon you see right now to do so. Otherwise, tap the “Add Automatically” option. I chose the latter.
