How to Allow App Installation from Unknown Sources on Android Pie

In Android Pie, to install an app from a source other than “Google Play Store,” you need to provide permission for the app from which you’re going to install an app.

For instance, if you’re gonna install an app from the “Files” app, then you need to provide permission for the “Files” app. In case, if you’re gonna install an app from “Chrome,” then you need to provide permission for the “Chrome” app. I hope you’ve got the point.

Well, let’s see how to do this task.

Open “Settings” app.

Tap the “Search bar” at the top and then type “unknown” (without double quotes).

Hit “Install unknown apps.”

Now, you can see “Install unknown apps.” Hit it.

From the list of apps you see right now, tap the one from which you’re going to install an app. In this instance, I chose the “Files” app.

Tap “Allow from this source.”

Enabled Allow from this source

That’s it. All done. From now on, you can install the app from the app you’ve chosen.

In case, if you want to revoke the permission you’ve given to the app, follow the above steps.
