How to Uninstall an App on Android

In this post, we’ll see two different ways to uninstall an app on Android.

In this instance, I’m using Android Pie. Let’s get started.

Method #1

  1. Open Play Store.

  2. Tap Hamburger icon (three vertical lines) at the top > My apps & games.

  3. Navigate to “Installed” tab.

  4. Find and tap the app you want to uninstall.

  5. Now, tap the “Uninstall” button.

  6. In the confirmation popup, tap “Ok.”

That’s it. All done.

In the “Installed” tab, you can see some system apps in your device. It means that those system apps have got updates.

Keep in mind that if you apply the above steps to a system app, all the updates of the app will be removed and not the app itself.

If you can’t find the app you want to uninstall in the Google Play Store, then follow the below method.

Method #2

Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen, and you’ll be in the app drawer.

Long press the icon of the app you want to uninstall.

Tap the “App info” or its icon.

Now, you can see the “Uninstall” button. Hit it.

In the confirmation popup, tap “Ok.”

If you see the “Disable” button, then it means that the app is a system app. If you want to remove it, then see this guide.

If you want to delete multiple apps at once, then check out this post.
