How to Turn On and Off WiFi on Android

You can turn on and off WiFi automatically or manually on Android. Here's how you can do that (In this instance, I'm using an Android device running Oreo):

Turn On and Off WiFi Manually

You can do this task in 3 different ways and here are they:

Unlock your Android device. Say "Okay Google" and then "Turn on WiFi."

It'll turn on WiFi, and if your device has a saved WiFi network, then your device will automatically get connected to it. Otherwise, only the WiFi gets turned on.

Turned WiFi on

If you want to see available networks, say "Okay Google" and then "Open WiFi settings" (Tell these commands after you've unlocked your device). Now, you can see the available WiFi networks.

Here's how you can connect to a network: Tap the one you prefer, enter its password and then tap "Connect."

If you want to turn off WiFi, unlock your device, say "Okay Google" and then "Turn off WiFi." That's all. All done.

WiFi turned off

Note: You can use all the above commands (except "Okay Google") in the Google Search Bar of your Android.

In the home screen, slide down from the top.

Now, you can see the "WiFi" icon which you can find above "Date." Hit it.

That's all. You've turned WiFi on, and your device will automatically get connected to the saved WiFi network. If your device has no saved WiFi network, then you'll only get the WiFi turned on.

If you want to see available WiFi networks, then follow the below steps:

In the home screen, slide down from the top. Now, slide down from the top again, and you can see "Quick Settings."

Hit the "Wi-Fi," and you can see the available networks. Tap the one you prefer, enter its password and then hit "Connect."

That's it. You'll be connected to the WiFi.

If you want to turn off WiFi, then here are the steps:

In the home screen, slide down from the top. Now, you can see "WiFi" icon. Hit it.

That's all. WiFi is turned off successfully.

Open App Drawer. Find and hit "Settings" app.

Tap "Network & Internet."

Now, you can see the toggle beside "Wi-Fi." Hit it, and it'll turn on WiFi.

WiFi is turned on

If your device has a saved WiFi network, then your device will get connected to it automatically. Otherwise, you have to connect to the WiFi network manually and here's how you can do that:

Hit the "Wi-Fi" option, and you'll see the list of WiFi networks.

Hit the one you prefer. Enter the password of the network.

Tap "Connect," and that's all. Your device will be connected to that network.

If you want to turn WiFi off, then here are the steps:

Tap "Network & Internet" option in the "Settings" app. Hit the toggle beside the "Wi-Fi."

That's it. All done.

Turn On and Off WiFi Automatically

You need to install a third-party app to do this task, and here we will see the one that does this task efficiently.
