How to Manually Update Apps on Play Store in Android

Open Play Store.

Hit Hamburger icon (three vertical lines) at the top > My apps & games.

Now, you should be in the “Updates” tab where you can see the updates if available (see below screenshot).

If you want to install all the updates, hit “Update All” button.

If you want to install the update of a particular app, then hit the “Update” button beside it.

How to Stop Apps Auto-Update on Play Store

By default, the apps automatically get updated when you’re on the WiFi connection.

If you want to stop this auto-update, then follow the below steps:

Open Play Store.

Hit Hamburger icon (three vertical lines) at the top > Settings.

Tap the “Auto-update apps” option which you can find between “App download preference” and “Clear local search history.”

In the popup, choose “Don’t auto-update apps.” Hit “Done.”

How to Stop Auto-update of a Particular App

If you want to stop a particular app from automatically updating, then follow the below steps:

Open Play Store.

Hit the Hamburger icon (three vertical lines) at the top > My apps & games.

Navigate to “Installed” tab.

Find the app for which you want to stop auto-update and then hit it.

Now, tap the Overflow menu (three vertical dots) at the top. You can see the “Enable auto update” option.

Hit it, and that’s all.

How to Update Google Play Store App

By default, the Google Play Store automatically updates itself.

However, if you don’t see the up-to-date version for any reason, then you can force Play Store to update itself and here’s how:

Open Play Store.

Hit Hamburger icon (three vertical lines) at the top > Settings.

Scroll down until you see “Play Store version.” Hit it.

If your Play Store is not up-to-date, it’ll get updated. Otherwise, you'll be notified that it is up-to-date.
