Obviously, Google Play Store is the one where we download apps for our device.
But, the problem is that it will automatically add shortcuts to the home screen of your device every time you install new app.
Play Store got this feature enabled by default. It will make your home screen a clutter (sooner or later).
I personally don’t like this feature. If you don’t want this feature turned on, then follow the below steps to disable it.
Stop Google Play Store from Adding Icons to Home Screen
- Open Play Store.
- Tap the Hamburger icon (three vertical lines) and it will open the menu.
- Now, select Settings (you can find this option at the bottom).
- Uncheck the option “Add icon to Home screen”.
That’s all. From now on, the app icons will not be added to your home screen by Play Store. You can find the installed apps on your app drawer.
If you clear the data of the Google Play Store (Settings > Apps > All tab > Google Play Store > Clear data button), then the above feature will come back to default (enable) state. If you clear the Play Store data, then you need to disable this feature again.
