How to Star Files and Folders on Google Drive

You can star files and folders on Google Drive and here's how you can do that on PC and Android:

PC

  • angle-right
    Go to Google Drive. Sign in if not already.
  • angle-right
    ​Select the file(s) (and/or folder(s)) you want to star.
  • angle-right
    ​Now, right-click on it, and you can see the "Add star" option. Click on it.

That's it. The content(s) are starred.

To view all starred contents: Click on the "Starred" option on the left side of the screen, and you can see all the starred items.

To unstar starred items: Click on "Starred" option on the left side of the screen. Now, select the item(s) you want to unstar. Right-click on it and you can see the "Remove star" option. Click on it.

Android

  • angle-double-right
    ​Open the Google Drive app.
  • angle-double-right
    ​Select the file(s) (and/or folder(s)) that you want to star.
  • angle-double-right
    ​Now, you can see the "Star" icon (if you don't view "Star" icon, then tap on the Overflow Menu (three vertical dots), and you can see the "Star" option). Tap on it.

That's all. The item(s) are starred.

To view all the starred items: Tap on the Hamburger icon (three vertical lines) and then tap on "Starred" option.

To unstar the starred items: Tap on Hamburger icon (three vertical lines) > Starred. Select the item(s) that you want to unstar. Now, you can see the "Star" icon (if you don't see it, then tap on the Overflow Menu (three vertical dots), and you can see the "Star" option). Tap on it.
