You can star a file on Google Docs, and it is a simple task. Let's see how to do this task on PC and Android.

PC

Sign into Google Docs.

To Star: Open the document you wish to star and then click on the "Star" icon at the top.

The document is starred

To Unstar: Open the document you wish to unstar and then click on the "Star" icon at the top.

Android

    Open Google Docs app.
  • angle-right
Now, long press the file that you want to star.
  • angle-right
Find and tap the “Star” option.

That's all. The document is starred now.

The file is starred

Tap on Hamburger icon (three vertical lines) > Starred to view all the starred files.

To unstar a starred file, do these steps:

  • angle-double-right
Tap on Hamburger icon (three vertical lines) > Starred.
  • angle-double-right
Long press the file that you want to unstar.
  • angle-double-right
Find and tap the “Star” option.

That's it. The document is unstarred now.

Alternatively, you can do the above tasks using Google Drive web version and Google Drive for Android which I've talked in this guide. Keep in mind that the star and unstar you've made to a Google Docs file on Google Drive will reflect in Google Docs and vice versa.
