How to Open an Item with a Single Click in Windows 10

By default, a double-click is needed to open an item in Windows 10.

In this post, we will see how to open an item in Windows 10 with a single click. Let's get started.

Open an Item with a Single Click in Windows 10

  • angle-right
Open File Explorer Options (To do that: Open Run Command. Type control folders and then press "Enter" key).
  • angle-right
Under "Click items as follows" section, you can see "Single-click to open an item (point to select)." Click on it.
  • angle-right
Under that, you can see two options:

Underline icon titles consistent with my browser - If you select this option, you can always see underline in the item title.

Underline icon titles only when I point at them - If you choose this option, you can see underline in the item title when you hover your mouse over it.

  • angle-right
Choose the one you want from the above two options.
  • angle-right
    Click "OK."
Selected Single-click to open an item option

That is all. From now on, you can open an item with a single click.

Note: If you want to go back to the default, then open File Explorer Options, select "Double-click to open an item (single-click to select)," and then click "OK."
