How to Hide or Show the Home Button in Edge, Chrome and Firefox

In this post, you will see the steps to show or hide the home button in Edge, Chrome and Firefox.

Here, I’m using Android (Chrome for Android only) and Windows 10 PC. Let’s get started.

Hide or Show Home Button

PC

Chrome

Open the Chrome browser.

Click on the three vertical dots at the top.

Click on “Settings.”

Click on “Appearance” on the left sidebar.

You will see a button next to the “Show home button.” Disable it to hide the home button.

If you want to show the Home button, enable it, and you can see the Home button in the Chrome toolbar.

After activation, you will see two options – “New Tab page” and “Enter custom web address.”

Remember that clicking the home button takes you to the home page, and Chrome has set the “New Tab page” as your home page by default. If you want to set up a custom URL as your home page, use the “Enter custom web address” option.

Firefox

Open Firefox.

Hit three horizontal lines at the top.

Click on “Customize.”

To view: You can now see “Home.” Drag it into the Firefox toolbar.

To hide: Drag and drop the Home icon from the Firefox toolbar to the screen.

Edge

Open Edge browser.

Hit the three horizontal points at the top.

Click on “Settings” in the menu.

Click on “Appearance” on the left sidebar.

You will see a button next to the “Show home button.” Disable (to hide) or enable (to show) it.

That’s it.

Once you have activated the Home button, you will see the “Home” button in the Edge toolbar.

Remember that clicking the “Home” button will take you to the homepage, and Edge has set the “New tab page” as your homepage by default.

If you want to set up a web page as your homepage, use the “Enter URL” option, which you will find under the “New tab page.”

Android

Open the Chrome app.

Tap the three vertical dots at the top.

Click on “Settings.”

Tap “Homepage.”

Click “On” (to hide) or “Off” (to display).
