How to Show Hidden Files and Folders in Android and Windows 10

In this post, we'll see how to view hidden files and folders in Android and Windows 10. Let's get started.

Show Hidden Files and Folders in Android

You can show and hide hidden files and folders in Android at any time you want.

Here, we'll see three different ways to view hidden files and folders in Android (In this instance, I'm using an Android device running Oreo). You can choose the method you prefer. Let's see what they are.

  • angle-right
Open the default file manager (the one that comes with your Android device).
  • angle-right
Hit the "Local" tab, select the storage (Internal Storage or External Storage; In this instance, I chose the former), and then tap the Overflow Menu (three vertical dots) at the top.
  • angle-right
    Tap "Show hidden folders" option.

That's all. Now, you can see the hidden files and folders of the storage you're in right now (In my case, it is Internal Storage). If you open another storage (In my case, it is External Storage), then you can see the hidden items of that storage too.

If you want to hide hidden items, then follow the above steps (1 and 2) and then hit the "Don't show hidden folders" option.

That's it. Now, scroll down until you see "Local." Hit it, tap Internal Storage or SD card depending on the one you prefer, and then you can see the hidden files and folders of Internal Storage or SD card.

If you want to revert, follow the above steps.

Connect your Android device with the PC (In this instance, I'm using Windows 10) via USB.

In your Android device, slide down from the top, and you can see this notification:

Notification stating USB charging this device

Expand it and then tap it.

Now, you can see this popup:

Use USB to popup

Select "Transfer files" option.

That's it. Now, open the File Explorer in your PC, and you can see your device name. Click on it.

You can see both the storage (Internal and External) of your device now. Click on the one you prefer.

That's all. You can see the hidden files and folders of the corresponding storage.
