How to Rotate an Image in Windows 10

In this post, you’ll see the steps to rotate a picture. In this instance, I’m using a Windows 10 computer. Let’s get started.

How to Rotate an Image in Windows 10

Use any of the below methods you prefer.

File Explorer

Open File Explorer.

Select an image. If you want to rotate images in bulk, then select all the images you like to rotate.

Right-click on it and you will see two options – “Rotate right” and “Rotate left.”

As the name shows, the former turns the picture to the right, and the latter rotates the image to the left.

Use the option until the image is in the way you want.

You can do the same task with the steps below too:

Launch File Explorer.

Select the image(s). Hit the “Picture Tools” tab in the Ribbon. There, you can see the “Rotate left” and “Rotate right” options, which you can use to rotate the picture. Use the option until the image is in the way you wish.

Select the image(s). Use these keyboard shortcuts – Alt, J, P, R, L keys (to rotate left) and Alt, J, P, R, R keys (to rotate right). Use the shortcuts until the picture is in the way you prefer.

Microsoft Photos 

You can rotate your photos using Microsoft Photos and here’s how: 

Open the photo in the Photos app. 

Hit the “Rotate” icon at the top or press CTRL + R. 

Now, you can see that the image got rotated to the 90 degree in clockwise direction. 

Use the icon or shortcut until the image is in the way you want. 

Microsoft Paint 

Open the image in Paint

Click “Rotate.” 

You can now see these options: 

  • Rotate right 90 
  • Rotate left 90 
  • Rotate 180 
  • Flip vertical 
  • Flip horizontal 

Use these options and rotate the image as per your wish.
