You’ll only see the desktop next time you log in by default.
If you want the opened folders to be open automatically the next time you log in to your computer (in our example, Documents and Downloads), follow these steps.
In this case, I’m using a Windows 11 computer.
How to Restore Previous Folder Windows at Logon
Here are the steps:
Launch the File Explorer Options.
Go to the View tab.
Select the option “Restore previous folder windows at logon.” You can find this one between “Launch folder windows in a separate process” and “Show drive letters.”
Click the “OK” button at the bottom.
That’s it. The restored previous folder windows will now show up when you log into your PC.
Note: You can return to the default settings by unchecking the above option and clicking the “OK” button.
