How to Restart or Shut Down an iPhone

Restart iPhone

To reboot, you need to turn off your iPhone and then turn it on. Let’s see how to do this.

  1. Press and hold “Side” (which is on the right side) and “Volume Down” (which is on the left side bottom) buttons together.
  1. You can see the “slide to power off.”
  1. Slide the “Power” icon at the top from left to right.

That’s it. Your iPhone will shut down. After that, you’ll need to turn it on, and here’s how:

  1. Press and hold the “Side” button.
  1. When you see the “Apple” icon, release the hold.

Force reboot of iPhone

If your iPhone doesn’t respond, you can try it.

Press the “Volume Up” button on the left and the “Volume Down” button on the lower left.

Press and hold the “Side” button on the right. When you see the “Apple” icon, release the hold.

Turn off the iPhone

Open Settings. Tap “General.” Scroll down, and you will see the “Shut Down” option. Press it.

Now you see the “slide to power off.” Slide the “Power” icon at the top from left to right.

Or you can complete the above task with the following steps:

Together, press and hold “Side” (which is on the right side), and “Volume down” (which is on the left side bottom) buttons.

Now you see the “slide to power off.” Slide the “Power” icon at the top from left to right.

Turn on iPhone

Press and hold the “Side” button on the right. When you see the “Apple” icon, release the hold.
