How to Remove Bloatware on Android

What is Bloatware?

Bloatware is pre-installed apps in your handset that are installed by your carrier or manufacturer.

Generally, most of the bloatware apps do

  • Running in the background
  • Taking storage space and RAM

If you don’t need it, you can get rid of it by using any one of the following two options.

1. Freezing or disabling bloatware

Freezing an app makes it

  • Doesn’t appear in the app drawer
  • Completely disabled

A frozen app needs you to unfreeze it to run. This option is for both rooted and non-rooted android devices.

2. Removing bloatware

  • Generally, the bloatware is in the system partition of the device. So, in non-rooted devices, we can’t remove pre-installed apps.
  • In the rooted device, we can remove it easily.
