Remove Recently Used Files and Frequently Used Folders from Quick Access

In Windows 10, by default, recently used files and frequently used folders are displayed in Quick access.

However, if you want to remove those from Quick access, then here is how you can do that:

Open File Explorer Options (need help to open it? check out this post).

Under “Click items as follows” section, you can see “Privacy” section. Under it, you can see two options:

Show recently used files in Quick access – Uncheck this option if you want to remove recently used files from Quick access.

Show frequently used folders in Quick access – Uncheck this option if you want to remove frequently used folders from Quick access.

Uncheck both or anyone as per your liking.

Click “OK.”

Unseleceted both options

That is all. You can see the changes in Quick access now.

Note: The pinned folders will be shown in Quick access even though if you have unchecked “Show frequently used folders in Quick access” option.
