Read receipts (also known as blue ticks), a feature that is enabled on WhatsApp by default, let the sender know that the recipient read his message.
However, if you want to read WhatsApp messages without letting the sender know about it, then this guide is for you.
Why Disabling Read Receipts Feature is Not a Perfect Solution?
You can do this task by turning off read receipts.
However, it is not a good solution because it will affect both the sender and receiver. If you disable this feature, the sender will not know that you read his message. However, the same is the case for you when you send a message to someone.
Also, this will not stop Read receipts sent for group chats.
Unfortunately, there is no way to do this on a per chat basis too. So, all this makes the “disabling,” a non-perfect solution.
However, here I have discussed a single method that will let you read messages without the sender knows about it. This method works for both individual and group chat.
Without further ado, let’s get started.
Read WhatsApp Messages without Blue Ticks
Let’s see the steps to place a WhatsApp widget on the home screen:
Long press the home screen and choose “Widgets.”
Scroll down to the bottom. Now, you can see all the “WhatsApp widgets.”
Long press the “Whatsapp” widget and drop it on the home screen.
On the confirmation pop-up, choose the “Create” option.
Now, you can see the WhatsApp widget. Resize it if you want.
From now on, when you receive a WhatsApp message, you can see it in the widget.
The only downside of this method is that when you receive an image (or any media), you will see the image notification only and not the picture you have received (see screenshot).
That is all. You can use the above method to read WhatsApp messages without blue ticks if you prefer to get this task done with no app.
