How to Block Pop-ups in Chrome, Edge and Firefox

You can allow or block pop-ups in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Safari (iPhone).

How to allow or block pop-ups in Chrome

Windows 10 PC

Here are the steps to activate pop-ups:

Open the Google Chrome browser.

Go to this URL: chrome://settings/content/popups

Now, you will see a switch next to “Blocked (recommended).” Activate it to allow pop-ups.

You can only allow pop-ups for specific sites instead of allowing pop-ups for all sites. Here’s how:

In Chrome, go to this URL: chrome://settings/content/popups

Click “Add” next to “Allow.”

In the pop-up, enter the website URL and then click “Add.”

To block pop-ups

In the address bar, type the following and press Enter: chrome://settings/content/popups

Disable the switch next to “Allowed.”

Click on “Settings.”

Tap “Site settings.”

Hit “Pop-ups and redirects.”

Now you can see the switch. Enable (to allow) or disable (to block) it.

How to allow or block pop-ups in Edge

Windows 10 PC

Open Edge browser.

Click on the three horizontal dots in the upper right corner.

Click on “Settings.”

Click “Site permissions” in the left sidebar.

Click on “Pop-ups and redirects.”

You can see a switch beside “Block (recommended).” Enable (to allow pop-ups) or disable (to block pop-ups) it.

Click the “Exceptions” button next to the “Block pop-up windows.” Use the steps above to see this one.

You will see a pop-up.

Type the website URL for which you want to allow pop-ups in the “Address of website” field and then click the Allow button.

Repeat the previous step and add the desired web pages.

Click on “Save Changes.”

Enable or disable pop-up blocker in Safari (iPhone)

Open Settings.

Hit “Safari.”

You can now see the toggle switch next to the “Block Pop-ups.”

Activate the toggle switch to activate the pop-up blocker.
