  • How to Turn On Dark Theme on Google App
  • How to Turn Off Autoplay on Google App
  • How to Set Google App to Auto Close Tabs (iPhone)

Here, I’m using Android and iPhone. Let’s start.

How to Open Incognito in Google App

Here are the steps:

Open the Google app and hit your profile picture at the top right.

Select “Turn on Incognito” (if you’re using iPhone) or the “New Chrome incognito tab” (if you’re using Android). If you’re using Android, hit “Continue.”

That’s all.

To get out of Incognito in iPhone, you need to hit the Home icon at the bottom, then the Incognito icon at the top right. Select Turn off Incognito.

How to Turn On Dark Theme on Google App

By default, the Google app reflects the iPhone dark mode status. For instance, if your iPhone is in dark mode, the app is in dark theme.

The same is the case for Android too.

How to Turn Off Autoplay on Google App

By default, the video previews automatically play when you’re on a Wi-Fi connection.

If you wish, you can turn off this autoplay. Here’s how:

Open the Google app and then hit your profile picture on the top right.

Select Settings > General.

Tap “Autoplay video previews,” and you can see these options:

  • Never: turn it off.
  • Wi-Fi Only (if you’re using iPhone) or Only on Wi-Fi (if you’re using Android): autoplay only on Wi-Fi.
  • Always (if you’re using iPhone) or On Wi-Fi & mobile data (if you’re using Android): autoplay regardless of internet connection type.

Choose Never.

How to Set Google App to Auto Close Tabs (iPhone)

Note: This is for iPhone only.

Hit the profile picture at the top right of the Google app and select Settings.

Select Tabs > Clear tabs. Now choose the duration you prefer and the available ones are:

  • Never (never auto close tabs).
  • After 1 day.
  • After 1 week.
  • After 1 month.

That’s all. From now on, the Google app will close the tabs automatically as per the option you choose.

Notes:

Let’s see how to close a tab in the Google app manually:

Hit the “Tabs” tab at the bottom of the Google app. Tap the X icon in the tab you want to close, and the app will close it.

If you want to close all open tabs at once, you need to hit the trash can icon at the top. Select Close all in the popup.
