How to Open System Configuration (MSConfig) in Windows 10

Msconfig Command

The command msconfig can open System Configuration in Windows 10, and you can use this command in the following programs:

Start Menu Search

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Type system configuration.
  3. Click the System Configuration app.

System Configuration Shortcut

  1. Open Start menu.
  2. Click Windows Administrative Tools.
  3. Hit the System Configuration.

Msconfig File

  1. Open System32 folder.
  2. Find and double-click the msconfig file.

Create a System Configuration (MSConfig) Shortcut

Follow the underneath steps to create a System Configuration (MSConfig) shortcut in the Windows 10 desktop or File Explorer.

Right-click on desktop or File Explorer blank area. Hover your mouse over “New” in the context menu. Hit “Shortcut.”

Type msconfig in the “Create Shortcut” pop-up. Click the “Next” button. Give the shortcut name if you don’t like the suggested one. Click on the “Finish” button.
