How to Move Files and Folders in Google Drive

Moving a file or folder into another folder in Google Drive is a simple task and here's how you can do that on PC and Android:

PC

    ​Sign into Google Drive.

    ​Select a file or folder you want to move by clicking on it.

    ​Now, drag and drop into the folder you want.

​Alternatively, you can do the same by these steps too:

    ​Right-click on the file or folder you want to move and then choose "Move to" which you can find between "Get shareable link" and "Add star."

    ​Now, you can see the folder(s). In case, if you don't view the one you want, then click on the "Back" arrow in the popup to navigate.

    ​Once you see the folder you wish, select it and then hit the "Move" button.

Move Multiple Files and/or Folders to Another Folder at Once

    ​Select the files and/or folders you want to move.

    ​Now, right click on it and you can see "Move to" option. Click on it.

    ​You can see the folder(s) now. If you don't see the folder you want, then click on the "Back" arrow in the popup to navigate.

    Once you see the folder you wish, select it and then click on "Move" button.

​Android

Open the Google Drive app. Drag and drop a file or folder you want to move into the folder you wish.

That's it. Alternatively, you can do the same task by the following steps too:

    ​Select the file or folder by long pressing it.

    ​Hit the Overflow Menu in the popup, and you can see "Move" option. Hit it.

    ​Now, you can see the folder(s) and if you don't view the one you wish, hit the "Back" arrow at the top to navigate.

    ​Once you see the folder you wish, tap it and then hit the "Move" option at the bottom.

That's it. The items are moved successfully.
