How to Disable Twitter In-app Browser

Android

On the Twitter for Android, every link you click will open in the in-app browser by default.

If you prefer to get the links opened in your default browser instead of the in-app browser, then you need to disable Twitter in-app browser and here are the steps:

​Open the Twitter app on your Android device. ​Hit three vertical lines at the top left. Tap Settings and privacy > Display and sound.

​In the “Web browser,” you can see the “Use in-app browser” option. Unselect it.

That’s it. The Twitter in-app browser is disabled successfully, and from now on, the links got open in your default browser.

In case, if you prefer to enable Twitter in-app browser, then follow the above steps but instead of unselecting, select.

iPhone

By default, the Twitter for iPhone opens the link in the in-app browser. Also, note that there is no option to disable the in-app browser on Twitter for iPhone.

If you want to open the link in the Safari, then follow these steps: Open the link, and you can see the “Safari” icon at the bottom right. Hit it, and the link will open in Safari.

The important thing here to note is that you need to do this for every link you wish to open.


How to Disable Facebook In-app Browser

Android

By default, Facebook for Android opens the link in the in-app browser.

If you want to open the link in your default browser instead of the Facebook Mobile Browser, then you need to turn off the Facebook in-app browser.

Here’s how to disable Facebook in-app browser:

  1. Open the Facebook app.
  1. Tap the three vertical lines at the top.
  1. Hit “Settings & Privacy.”
  1. Tap “Settings.”
  1. Hit “Media and Contacts.”
  1. Now, you can see the “Links open externally” option. Enable it.

That’s it. The Facebook in-app browser is disabled successfully, and from now on, the link will open in your default browser.

In case, if you want to enable Facebook in-app browser, follow the above steps but disable instead of enabling.

Note: There is no option to disable Facebook in-app browser on iPhone. But you can open the link in the Safari after you opened it in the Facebook in-app browser. Here’s how: Tap the three horizontal dots at the top right and then hit “Open in Safari.”


How to Disable Gmail In-app Browser

iPhone

Open the Gmail app. Hit the three vertical lines at the top right. Tap Settings > Default apps. In the “Browser” section, choose the one you prefer except “Safari.”

Note: Gmail for Android doesn’t have the in-app browser.


How to Disable Google In-app Browser

Android

Open the Google app. Hit the “More” at the bottom. Tap Settings > General. Disable “Open web pages in the app” option.

If you want to open web pages in the Google app, follow the above steps but instead of disabling, enable.

Note: There isn’t an option on Google for iPhone to turn off the in-app browser. But you can open the link in the browser after you opened it in the Google in-app browser. Here’s how: Tap the “Share” icon at the bottom. Now you may see both these options: “Open in Safari” and “Open in Chrome.” Hit the one you prefer.


Instagram In-app Browser

Android

Instagram doesn’t have an option to turn off its in-app browser. But you can open links in the browser after you open it in the in-app browser and here’s how:

Tap on the three vertical dots at the top. Hit “Open with” option. Now, you can see the browsers as options. Pick the one you want.

iPhone

The case of Android applies to the iPhone. Here’s how you open links in the browser after you open it in the in-app browser:

Hit the “Share” icon at the bottom. Tap “Open in Safari” option. Remember that if you wish, you can open it in a different browser from here. That’s all.
