How to Change Homepage and Startup Page on Microsoft Edge

When you open your browser, the first page you see is called the “Startup Page.”

You can set any web page as the Microsoft Edge homepage, which you see when clicking the Home button.

In this post, you’ll see how to change the Edge startup page and set up the homepage on Edge. I’ll set “Google” as my homepage here.

In this case, I use a Windows 11 PC, iPhone (iOS 15.2), and Google Pixel 4a (Android 12). Let’s begin.

How to Change Homepage on Edge (PC)

Here are the steps:

Launch the Microsoft Edge browser. In the top right corner, click on the three horizontal dots.

Then, click on “Settings.”

Click “Start, home, and new tabs” on the left sidebar.

If not already, turn on the “Show home button on the toolbar.”

Select the blank field (second option). As the homepage, enter the desired URL. I typed the URL of Google.

Next to the field, click “Save.”

That’s it. Whenever you click the “Home” button in the Edge toolbar, Edge will take you to the URL you entered.

Here’s how you can return to the default homepage on Edge: Select the first option (New tab page), which you can find under the “Home button” section.

How to Change Homepage on Edge (Android)

Note: You can’t do this on Chrome for iPhone.

Launch the Microsoft Edge app.

Hit the button with the three horizontal dots at the bottom.

Tap “Settings” and then hit General.

Choose “A specific page” in the Home page section and enter the URL you wish to set as your homepage.

Alternatively, you can use the “Use current page,” which, as the name indicates, enter the current page as your homepage. Or you can use the “Use copied web address” option, which will fill the copied URL as your homepage.

Hit “Save,” and that’s all.

Note: To return to the default setting, follow the steps above and tap the “New tab page.”

How to Change Edge Startup Page (PC)

Launch Edge browser. Click the three horizontal dots at the top right and then Settings.

Click “Start, home, and new tabs” on the left sidebar.

You now have three options in the “When Edge starts” section:

  1. Open the new tab page (the default option)
  1. Open tabs from the previous session
  1. Open these pages – to set the particular page(s) as the startup page. Selecting this will require you to use one of the following buttons:
  • Add a new page – to set a specific page.
  • Use all open tabs – to set all the open tabs.

Pick the one you like, and that’s all.

How to Change Startup Page on Edge (Android or iPhone)

Open the Edge app and hit the three horizontal dots at the bottom.

Hit Settings > General.

You’ll now see these options in the “Browsing Options” (if you’re using iPhone) or “On startup” (if you’re on Android) section:

  • Continue browsing where I left off
  • Open a new tab page

Choose the one you prefer. Hit “Done” at the top-right if you’re using iPhone.

That’s it.
