How to Disable Google Play Protect on Android

If you want to disable Google Play Protect for some reason, then here’s how you can do that on Android:

Open Google Play Store app.

Hit the “Hamburger” icon (three vertical lines) at the top.

Tap “Play Protect.”

Now, you can see the “Gear” icon at the top. Hit it.

Hit “Scan device for security threats.”

In the confirmation popup, tap “Ok.”

That’s it. All done.

If you want to turn on Google Play Protect in the future, enable the “Scan device for security threats” option.

Alternatively, you can do the above tasks using the following steps:

Open Settings app.

Tap Security & location > Google Play Protect > Gear icon.

Hit “Scan device for security threats.”

In the confirmation popup, tap “Ok.”

If you want to enable Google Play Protect in the future, enable the “Scan device for security threats” option.
