Create a Folder on Google Drive

  • Go to Google Drive. Sign in if not already.
  • Now, do any one of the following:
  • Click on "My Drive" which is beneath the "Search Box" at the top. Click "New folder."
  • Right-click on space beneath the "Quick Access" items or in the "Folders" or "Files" section. Click on "New folder."
  • Click on "New" button on the left side of the screen and then select "Folder."
  • In the "New folder" popup, change the name of the folder if you wish and then click the "Create" button.

That's all. A folder is successfully created, and you can see it under "Folders" section OR "My Drive" in the left sidebar.

  • In the "New folder" popup, provide a name if you wish and then tap "OK."

That's it. Now, you can see the folder under "Folders" section which is underneath "Quick Access."

Rename a File or Folder on Google Drive

  • Go to Google Drive. Sign in if not already.
  • Right-click on the file or folder you want to rename.
  • Click "Rename."
  • In the "Rename" popup, enter the new name and then hit the "OK" button.

  • Open the Google Drive app.
  • Long press the file or folder you want to rename.
  • Hit the Overflow Menu (three vertical dots). Now, you can see "Rename" option beneath "Add to Home screen" option.
  • In the popup, enter the new name and then hit "OK."
