How to Change Orientation on Google Docs

The default orientation of Google Docs is "Portrait." If you want to change it, then here are the steps:

PC

  • angle-right
    Go to Google Docs. Sign in if not already.

    Open the document for which you want to change orientation.
  • angle-right
    Click on File > Page setup.
  • angle-right
    In the "Page setup" popup, select "Landscape."
  • angle-right
    Hit "Set as default" button if you want to set the orientation as the default. ​Otherwise, leave the button intact.

    Hit the "OK" button.

That's it. The orientation is changed successfully.

Android

  • angle-double-right
    Open the Google Docs app.
  • angle-double-right
    Now, open the file for which you want to change the orientation.
  • angle-double-right
    Click on the "Pencil" icon at the bottom.
  • angle-double-right
    Hit the Overflow Menu (three vertical dots) at the top. Now, you can see the "Page setup" option. Tap on it.

    Tap "Orientation" and then select "Landscape."

That's all. The orientation is changed successfully.

However, to view the changes, you need to enable the "Print layout" option. To do that, hit the "Back" button, tap on the Overflow Menu (three vertical dots) at the top and then tap on "Print layout."
