How to Find Your IMEI Number on Android

IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique 15 digit number assigned to every handset; You can use this number to blacklist your device if it has been stolen or lost.

There are many ways to find IMEI numbers on your Android device. In this post, we will see all those methods in detail. Let’s get started.

Find IMEI Number on Android

Before we get started, you need to take a look at the following two scenarios, and most probably you are in any one of it:

    You have your device in switched on or off condition
  • check
    Your device is lost or stolen

You have Your Device in Switched On or Off Condition

If you are in the first scenario, then you can try it out any one of the following four methods to find IMEI number of your device.

USSD Code

Open the dialer and type the following USSD code:

*#06#

Now you can see the IMEI numbers of your device.

Go to the following location on your device:

Settings > About phone > Status > SIM status

Now you can find your device's IMEI numbers (IMEI (SIM 1) and IMEI (SIM 2))

The name of the option and its location may vary depending upon the device. However, you can find this information in the “About” of your device.

So, I suggest you do a little search in the About if you do not find the option I have specified.

Third-Party Apps

Install and open this app. On the Main screen, you can see the IMEI number of your device.

Remove Battery

This method is only applicable to the devices with the removable battery.

Just switch off the mobile and take out the battery from the phone. Now you can see the IMEI numbers on the back of your device.

Your Device is Lost or Stolen

There are only a few ways out there to find out IMEI number of the lost or stolen Android phone and here are they:

Find your device’s packaging box; it may contain the IMEI number of your device.

Typically, the IMEI information is on the side of the packaging box.

If you purchased your device from the shop, then you can find the IMEI number on the “purchase bill”;

If you purchased your device from an online shopping site, then you may find the device’s IMEI number from the order.

For instance, if you have placed the order on Amazon, then you need to do these steps:

Go to “Your Orders” > Find your mobile order > Click on “Invoice” in the order > choose “Printable Order Summary” from the list of options.

In the order summary, you can find your device’s IMEI number.
