How to Find Android Version of Your Device

What version of Android am I using? How to check Android version of my device?

If you have any of these questions, then this guide is for you.

You need to know the exact version of your Android device for many reasons such as for the installation of the Xposed framework.

In this post, we will see the steps to find Android version and it can be done in a minute. Let’s get started.

Find Android Version of Your Device

Steps

  • Open App drawer on your device.
  • Find and tap "Settings" app.
  • Settings app
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap "About phone" option.
  • About phone
  • Find the “Android version” option.
  • Android version
  • The number you are seeing right now is your Android device version.

Android Operating System version is called by a code name. In this instance, my device is showing 6.0.1 which means MarshMallow.

Likewise, your Android device version has a code name. If you wish to know the code name of your Android version, then please do a Google search with your version number.

The Android devices vary. So, the location of the "Android version" option may also vary.

If you don't find the option in the location I've specified, then just tap the Search icon at the top right corner on the Settings app (See the second screenshot) and type Android version. Now you can see the option.

I hope this post is useful for you to find your Android device's OS version. If you like the information in this post, share this one with your friends.
