By default, empty drives are hidden in Windows 10 File Explorer.

No empty drive is showing in File Explorer

If you want to show them, then here are the steps:

  1. Open the File Explorer. Click on File > Change folder and search options.

  2. Navigate to the “View” tab and then find and unselect “Hide empty drives” option which is between “Show hidden files, folders and drives” and “Hide extensions for known file types.”
    Unselected Hide empty drives option

  3. Click the “Ok” button.

That’s all. You can now see the empty drives in File Explorer.
