How to Enable or Disable Do Not Track on Chrome

In this post, you’ll see the steps to enable or disable the Do Not Track (DNT) feature on Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge.

In this case, I use Windows 10 PC and Android. Let’s get started.

How to enable or disable Do Not Track on Chrome

PC

Open the Google Chrome browser.

Hit the three vertical dots at the top.

Click on “Settings.”

Click on “Privacy and security” in the left sidebar.

Click on “Cookies and other site data.”

Enable (to enable) or disable (to disable) the switch next to “Send a “Do Not Track” request with your browsing traffic.”

When activated, you will see a pop-up. Click “Confirm.”

Android

Open the Chrome app.

Hit the three vertical dots at the top.

In the menu, click the Settings option which you will find under “Desktop site.”

Hit “Privacy.”

Tap “Do Not Track”.

Enable (to turn on) or disable (to turn off) the switch.

How to enable or disable Do Not Track on Firefox

PC

Open the Mozilla Firefox browser.

Hit the three vertical lines at the top.

Click on “Options.”

Click “Privacy & Security” in the left sidebar.

Under “Send websites a “Do Not Track” signal that you don’t want to be tracked,” you will see these two options:

  • Always
  • Only when Firefox is set to block known trackers

The latter disables “Do Not Track” (does not apply to private browsing mode), and the former enables it. Select the one you prefer.

How to enable or disable Do Not Track on Edge

PC

Open the Microsoft Edge browser.

Hit the three horizontal dots at the top.

Click on “Settings.”

Click “Privacy, search, and services” in the left sidebar.

In the Privacy section, you will see “Send “Do Not Track” requests.”

Aside from that you can see the switch.

Enable (to turn on) or disable (to turn off) the switch.

When activated, you can see a pop-up. Hit “Send request.”

Android

Open the Edge app.

Press the button with the three horizontal points below.

Tap “Settings.”

Hit “Privacy and Security.”

Tap “Do Not Track”.

Enable (to turn on) or disable (to turn off) the switch.
