How to Delete a Tweet on Twitter (2018 Edition)

Deleting a tweet is a simple task and here's how you can do that on PC and Android:

PC

    Sign into Twitter. Hit the profile picture at the top which you can find between "Search Box" and "Tweet" button.

    Hit "Profile" option.

    Now, find the tweet that you want to delete.
  • angle-double-right
    Hit the More (Down arrow) at the top of that tweet.

    Hit "Delete Tweet" option which you can find between "Pin to your profile page" and "Add to new Moment."

    In the confirmation popup, click on "Delete" option.

That's all. The tweet is deleted successfully from your Twitter account.

Android

  • angle-right
    Open Twitter app.
  • angle-right
    Tap profile picture at the top and then hit "Profile" option.

    Now, find the tweet you want to delete.
  • angle-right
    Hit the Down arrow at the top of that tweet.
  • angle-right
    Tap on "Delete Tweet" option.

    In the confirmation popup, tap "Yes."

That's it. The tweet is deleted successfully from your Twitter account.

Here are some other important things to note:

  • You can only delete your tweet and not one of the others.
  • Twitter doesn't have the tweet bulk delete feature. However, you can do that with the steps in this post.
  • When you delete your tweet, the retweets of that tweet will get deleted. If someone retweets your tweet with their comment, then that tweet will not get deleted when you remove your tweet.
