How to Delete a Blank Page in Google Docs

How to delete a page in Google Docs

PC

Sign in to Google Docs.

Open the document.

Delete a blank page: Place the cursor on the page you want to remove. Hit the “Backspace” key.

Remove a page and its content: Select the content of the page and press the “Backspace” button.

Android or iPhone

Open the Google Docs app.

Open the document and click on the “pencil” icon at the bottom.

Tap the three vertical dots (Android) or three horizontal dots (iPhone) at the top. Activate the “Print layout.”

Delete blank page: Place the cursor on the page you want to delete. Press “Backspace” on your keyboard.

Delete a page with its contents: Select the contents of the page and press the Backspace button.

How to delete the Google Docs file

PC

Sign in to Google Docs.

Click on the three vertical points in the file you want to delete.

Click on the “Remove” option.

Click the “Move to Trash” button in the pop-up.

Alternative method

Open the Google Docs document you want to remove.

Click “File” at the top.

Click “Move to trash” option.

Click “Go to Docs home screen” button.

That’s it. The file has been deleted but not permanently, and the deleted file is saved in Google Drive Trash.

If you want to restore this file or delete it permanently from Trash, then here are the steps:

Go to Google Drive.

Press “Trash” on the left side of the screen.

Find the file you want to recover or delete permanently.

Right-click on it and you will find two options – Restore and Delete forever.

Click “Restore” if you want to restore it.

To delete permanently: Click “Delete forever.” You will see a confirmation pop-up. Click “Delete Forever.”

Android or iPhone

Open the Google Docs app.

Tap the three vertical dots (Android) or three horizontal dots (iPhone) in the Google Docs file you want to delete.

Scroll through the options until you see “Remove.” Tap on it.

Click “Move to trash” in the pop-up.

That’s it. The file has been deleted but not permanently. Remember, deleted files are saved in Google Drive Trash.

If you want to recover this file or permanently remove it from the Trash, here are the steps:

Tap the three vertical lines in the Google Docs app.

Click on “Trash.” You will now find the deleted file. Click on the three vertical (or horizontal points in this file.

Tap “Restore” if you want to restore it.

To delete permanently: Tap “Delete forever.” You will see a confirmation pop-up. Tap “Delete forever.”

How to delete multiple files

Deleting multiple Google Docs files is something you can’t do on Docs, but you can do it on Drive.

PC

Go to Google Drive.

Select the Docs files you want to remove.

Click on the trash can icon at the top right.

Android or iPhone

Open the Google Drive app.

Go to the Files tab.

Select Docs files.

Tap the three horizontal (iPhone) or vertical (Android) dots at the top right.

Hit Remove.

Tap Move to trash.
