How to Delete Browsing History on PC and Android Browsers

Your browser has your browsing history (the record of all the websites you have visited). Note that the sites you have visited in the Private Browsing mode do not show here and anywhere.

Anyone with the access to your device can see your browsing history.

If you do not want others to see it, then you need to delete selectively or all of your browsing histories before you give your device to someone.

In this post, we will see the steps to do this task on PC and Android browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. Without further ado, let’s see how to do it.

Delete Browsing History

PC

Below you can find out how to do this task on web browsers (Chrome, Firefox, and Opera).

Chrome

Just press Ctrl + H (or type chrome://history and press Enter or click on Overflow menu (three vertical dots) > hover the mouse over History > click on History) to open Chrome History.

Now, you can view all the websites you have visited.

To Delete Selectively

    Select the website(s) that you want to remove from history.

    Once you have done that, just click "Delete" at the top right.

    On the confirmation popup, tap "Remove."

To Delete All H​​​​istory

    From the left sidebar, click on “Clear browsing data” option.

    You can see a popup now on the new window (For directly opening this popup, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete button or enter the following on your Address Bar: chrome://settings/clearBrowserData).

    Now, choose “the beginning of time” from Duration drop-down list and select "Browsing history" option. Unselect all other options.

    Click on “Clear Browsing Data” button.

Firefox

To Delete Selectively

    Open Firefox and just press Ctrl + Shift + H.

    In the popup, find the one that you want to delete and then right-click it.

    Click on "Delete Page" option.

To delete multiple items at once, press Ctrl + Shift + H. Now, press and hold the Ctrl key and select all the items that you want to remove. Right-click on the selected items and select "Delete Pages" option.

To Delete All History

    Open Firefox and tap "Library" icon.

    Click on History > Clear Recent History.

    Now, you can see a popup (To open this popup directly, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete button).

    From the Duration drop-down list, choose "Everything" and then select "Browsing & Download History" (The Download History contains the record of all the downloads you have made; keep in mind that only history will be deleted and not downloaded files). Unselect all other options.

Opera

To Delete Selectively

    Click on Opera icon at the top left. Hover mouse over History > click on History.

    Now, you can view your Opera history.

    Hover the mouse over the item that you want to delete from history.

    Click on "Cross" icon.

Currently, Opera does not have the option to delete multiple items at once.

To Delete All History

    Click on "Clear Browsing Data" button at the top of the Opera history (or press Ctrl + Shift + Delete or Click Opera icon > History > Clear Browsing data).

    Choose "the beginning of time" from Duration drop-down list and select "Browsing history" option. Unselect all the remaining options.

Android

Here, you can see the steps to do the task on Android browsers (Chrome, Firefox, and Opera).

Chrome

    Tap Overflow menu (three vertical dots). Tap History.

    If you want to delete an individual item from history, just tap "Trash Can" icon beside the one that you want to remove.

    If you want to delete multiple items at once, just long press an item and then select all the remaining items that you want to remove. Now, hit the "Trash Can" icon at the top.

    If you want to delete all history, just tap "clear browsing data" option at the top.

    Navigate to the "Advanced" tab.

    Choose "All time" as "Time range" and then select “Browsing history.” Unselect all other options.

    To delete individual one, just long press the one that you want to delete. Tap "Remove." Keep in mind that Opera currently doesn't have the option to delete multiple items at once.
