How to Delete Browsing History on Chrome, Edge and Firefox

Your browser stores all sites you visit in your browsing history.

If you wish, you can delete websites from your browsing history or delete the entire browsing history of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge.

In this post you will see:

In this case, I use Windows 10 PC and Android. Let’s get started.

How to delete your browsing history on Chrome

PC

Open the Chrome browser.

Press CTRL + H to view your browsing history.

Now select the websites you prefer.

Click the “Delete” button at the top right.

Click “Remove” in the confirmation popup.

If you want to delete your entire browsing history, follow the steps below.

Press CTRL + Shift + Delete keys.

Now click “Advanced” in the pop-up window “Clear browsing data.”

Make sure that “All time” is selected in the drop-down list at the top.

Clear all but the “Browsing history.”

Click the “Clear data” button.

That’s all.

Android

Open the Chrome app.

Hit the three vertical dots in the upper right corner.

Tap “History.”

To remove an individual site, click “X” next to it.

To delete multiple sites, select them and click on the “Trash can” icon at the top.

How to remove the entire history

Open the Chrome app.

Click on the three vertical dots at the top right > Settings > Privacy > Clear browsing data.

Navigate to the “Advanced” tab.

Make sure that “All time” is selected from the drop-down list.

Clear all except “Browsing history.”

Click the “Clear data” button.

That’s all.

How to delete the browsing history on the Edge

PC

Open Edge browser.

Press CTRL + H.

Select the ones you want to remove.

Click “Delete” at the top.

Click “Delete” in the pop-up.

That’s it.

To remove the entire browsing history, press CTRL + Shift + Delete.

In the pop-up, select “All time” from the drop-down list.

Select “Browsing history.” and disable the remaining ones.

Click on “Clear now.”

Android

Open the Edge app.

Press the button with the three horizontal points below.

Tap “History.”

Press the one you want to remove for a long time and then press “Delete.”

That’s all.

To delete the entire browsing history, tap the “Trash can” icon at the top right.

In the pop-up, tap “Clear.”

Navigate to “Advanced” tab.

Select “All time” from the drop-down list.

Select “Browsing history.” and disable the remaining ones.

Click on “Clear.”

How to delete your browsing history on Firefox

PC

Open the Firefox browser.

Press CTRL + Shift + H.

In the pop-up, find the one you prefer (Use the search box or the left pane for this) and then select it by clicking.

If you want to select multiple websites, press the “CTRL” key and click on your preferred ones.

Right-click on the one(s) you have selected and then click on the “Delete Page” or “Delete Pages” option depending on the one you see which is based upon your selection.

How to erase the entire history

Open Firefox.

Press CTRL + Shift + Delete keys.

Select “Everything” from the drop-down list in the pop-up.

Clear all but “Browsing & Download History.”

Click on the “OK” button.

Android

Open the Firefox app.

Hit the three vertical points below.

Tap “History.”

If you want to remove a site, long-press it, tap the three vertical dots at the top right, and then press “Delete.”

If you want to remove multiple websites at once, select them, tap the three vertical dots at the top right, and then press “Delete.”

To delete the entire history, click on the “Delete history” button at the top and press “Delete” in the pop-up.

Here is an alternative way to do the above task:

Open the Firefox app.

Click on the three vertical dots at the bottom > Settings > Delete browsing data.

Disable all but “Browsing history and site data.”

Click on “Delete browsing data.”

In the pop-up, tap “Delete.”
