How to Customize the Notification Area in Windows 10

The notification area, located on the right side of the taskbar, is home to the system icons and some other icons.

In this post, you will see the steps to customize the notification area in Windows 10. Let’s get started.

Customize Notification Area

Hide or display system icons in the notification area

Open the taskbar settings.

Click the “Turn system icons on or off” link in the “Notification area” section.

Click the toggle switch next to the system icon you want to hide or show. Remember, blue means that it will appear.

Hide or display icons in the notification area

Start the taskbar settings. In the “Notification area” section, click the “Select which icons appear on the taskbar.”

Click the toggle switch next to the one you want to show or hide. Remember, blue means that it will appear.

Hide or display all activated icons in the notification area

If you click on the “Show hidden icons” (down arrow) next to the notification area icons, you can see some notification area icons that are out of sight.

If you want to display one of these icons in the notification area, simply drag it into the notification area.

If you do not want to see an icon in the notification area, drag it to the “Show hidden icons” (Down arrow).

Do you want to see all icons in the notification area? Follow the steps below.

Open the taskbar settings. Hit on “Select which icons appear on the taskbar.”

Activate the toggle button under “Always show all icons in the notification area.” Remember that blue means enabled.
