How to Connect Twitter to Facebook (and Vice Versa)

You can connect Twitter to Facebook OR Facebook to Twitter.

The benefit of doing so is that when you post on one platform, it will automatically be published on another. It saves you time and makes you stay active on both social media networks.

Like to do it? Then, without further ado, let’s see the steps to link accounts.

Connect Twitter to ​​​​​Facebook

When you connect Twitter to Facebook, then your tweets and retweets are automatically published, and your replies and direct messages are not.

You can connect your Twitter account to Facebook profile and here is how:

​Go to this URL. Sign in if not already.

Click on the “Connect to Facebook” button.

​Now, enter your Facebook account credentials in the popup and click the “Log In” button.

​Now, set the privacy option you prefer from the drop-down list and then click the “OK” button.

You can see a confirmation popup now. Click the “OK” button on that.

​That is all. Your Twitter account is connected to your Facebook profile.

Note: You can uncheck the first option if you don’t want retweets to get posted to your Facebook profile and page. Uncheck the second option, if you don’t want the tweets to get posted to your Facebook profile.

​If you want to connect your Twitter account with your Facebook Page too, then here are the steps (do the above steps if not already before below steps):

​Click on the “Allow” link (see above screenshot).

You can see a popup now and click the “OK” button in that.

​Under the “post to your Facebook page” option, you can see a drop-down list. Open it, and you can find your Facebook pages. Pick the one you want.

​That is all. The Twitter account is connected to the Facebook page you choose.

If you want to connect Twitter to the Facebook page only and not to your profile, then you need to do this step (do the above steps if not already before below steps):

Uncheck “post to my Facebook profile” option.

That is all. Your Twitter account is connected to your Facebook page only.

Note: To disconnect, click on the “Disconnect” button and that’s it.

Connect Facebook to Twitter

The following are the steps to connect the Facebook page to Twitter​:

​Go to this URL. Sign in if not already.

Click “Link a page to Twitter” link.

​Under the “Link your Pages to Twitter” section, you can see your Facebook pages. Click on the “Link to Twitter” button beside the Facebook page you want to connect to Twitter.

​Provide your Twitter account credentials and then click on the “Authorize app” button.​

​That is all. Your Facebook page is connected to Twitter.

Note: click on the “Edit Settings” link underneath the Facebook page (see above screenshot), unselect the one that you do not want to be posted to Twitter and then click on the “Save Changes” button.

To disconnect the Facebook page from Twitter, visit this URL and then click on the “Unlink from Twitter” link. Also, go to the “Apps” section of Twitter and then click the “Revoke access” button beside Facebook.

​The following are the steps to connect the Facebook profile to Twitter​:

​Go to this URL. Sign in if not already.

Click “Link my profile to Twitter.” Provide your Twitter account credentials and then click on the “Authorize app” button.

​That is all. Your Facebook profile is connected to Twitter.

Note: If you wish, you can uncheck the one that you do not want to be posted on Twitter and then click on the “Save Changes” button.

Also, note that only public posts will be shared with Twitter.

To disconnect Facebook profile from Twitter, visit this URL and then click the “Unlink from Twitter” link which you can find under your Facebook profile. Also, go to the “Apps” section of your Twitter account and then click on the “Revoke access” button beside Facebook.
