How to Change Icon Size in Windows 10

Change Desktop Icon Size in Windows 10

Right-click on the empty area of Desktop.

Hover the mouse over “View” option.

Now, you can see three options regarding icon size:

Large icons

Medium icons (default)

Small icons

Options are self-explanatory, right? Choose the one you prefer.

That is all. Now, you can see the change in all the desktop icons size as per the option you choose.

Alternatively, you can change desktop icons size by using following step:

Press and hold the Ctrl key and scroll your mouse. Scrolling down makes the icon smaller and scrolling up makes the icon larger.

Note: Keep in mind that the above steps will only affect desktop icon size.

Change Taskbar Icon Size in Windows 10

Right-click on Taskbar and then select “Taskbar settings.”

Find and click on the toggle under “Use small taskbar buttons.”

Now, you can see small buttons in the Taskbar.

Note:

Keep in mind that when you turn on “Use small taskbar buttons,” it will turn off “Show badges on taskbar buttons.”

Remember that the above steps will only affect Taskbar icons.

If you want to have large buttons in the Taskbar, repeat the above steps.

Change File Explorer Icon Size in Windows 10

Go to the folder you prefer.

Press and hold the Ctrl key and then scroll the mouse. If you scroll up, the icons get larger and vice-versa.

Alternatively, you can do the same task by following the below steps:

Go to the folder you want. Right-click on the empty area of the folder.

Hover your mouse over “View” option.

Now, you can see the following options:

Extra large icons

Large icons

Medium icons

Small icons

List

Details

Tiles

Content

Choose the option you prefer.

That is all. The change will be applied to the folder as per the option you chose.

Note:

Keep in mind that the change will be applied to the specific folder only and not for the entire system. For example: if you are using the above steps in the “Downloads” folder, then you can see changes in the “Downloads” folder only.
