How to Change Your Gmail Password on PC and Android

You need to change your Gmail password at regular intervals to make your account more secure.

In this post, we will see the steps to do this task on Gmail and Gmail app.

Keep in mind that changing Gmail password will be applied to all your Google services such as Google Drive and YouTube.

In other words, if you change Gmail password, then you will need to use the same password to access all the Google services associated with that account.

Without further ado, let's see how to do this task.

Change Gmail Password

PC

    Sign into your Gmail account

    Click on this link. This link will take you to the "Accounts and Import" section of your Gmail account.

    Click on "Change password" link.

    Provide the password of your Gmail account.

    Now, you will be on a screen (see below screenshot) where you need to input your new password twice. Make sure your password is at least eight characters, and your Password strength is "Strong."

    Keep in mind that changing the password will log you out of all the devices (including your mobile devices). So, after you have changed your password, you will need to sign in again on all the devices.

    Once you entered your new password, just click on "Change Password" button.

That's it. All done. If you prefer, you can click on "Get Started" button to review your recovery information and security settings.

    Under "Signing in to Google" section, find and click "Sign In" button.

    Now, provide the email address and password of your Gmail account.

    After that, you will be in this screen where you need to enter your new password into the two fields and then click on "Change Password" button.

    Tap Hamburger icon (three vertical lines).

    Scroll down until you find "Settings." Tap it.

    Tap the email address for which you want to change the password.

    Tap "My Account" option.

    Tap "Sign-in & security."
