How to Change Author of a Post in WordPress

You can change the author of a WordPress post at any time you want and here's how you can do that:

Steps

    Go to "Posts."
  • angle-double-right
    Click "Quick Edit" link beneath the post for which you want to change author.
  • angle-double-right
    Now, open drop-down list beside "Author."
  • angle-double-right
    Choose the author you want.

Note: Typically, you can see users with all the user roles here except the "Subscriber" and "No role for this site."

    Click on the "Update" button.

Alternate Way

  • angle-right
    Go to "Posts" and then open the post for which you want to change author.
  • angle-right
    Click on "Screen Options" at the top.
  • angle-right
    Select "Author" and then click "Screen Options" again.

    Now, you can see a new Meta Box called "Author."

    Choose the author you want from the drop-down list.

    Click on "Update" button in the "Publish" Meta Box. 

For Multiple Posts at Once

    Go to "Posts."
  • angle-double-right
    Select all the posts for which you want to change author.

Note:

Click on the "Author name" beside the "post title" to see all the posts written by that author only.

WordPress, by default, shows 20 posts per page. If you want to see more than 20 posts on a page, go to "Screen Options" and then change the value as per your wish in the "Number of items per page." Now, click "Apply" button.

    Open the first (Bulk Actions) drop-down list at the top and then select "Edit."Now, click on "Apply" button.

    Choose the author you want from the drop-down list besides "Author."

    Click on "Update" button.

Not only you can do all the above for the existing posts, but you can also do the same for the Drafts and Pages.
