How to Make Bold, Italic, Underline and Strikethrough Text on Google Docs

You can make bold, italic, underline, and strikethrough text on Google Docs and here's how you can do that on PC and Android:

PC

Sign into Google Docs.

Open the document and then select the text you wish.

For Bold text:

Press Ctrl + B. Alternatively you can do the same by clicking on "Format" at the top, hover your mouse over the "Text" and then click "Bold."

For Italic text:

Press Ctrl + I. Alternatively you can do the same by clicking on "Format," hover your mouse over the "Text" and then click "Italic."

For Underline text:

Press Ctrl + U. Alternatively you can do the same by clicking on "Format" at the top, hover your mouse over the "Text" and then click on "Underline."

For Strikethrough text:

Press Alt + Shift + 5. Alternatively, you can do the same by clicking on "Format," hover your mouse over the "Text" and then click on "Strikethrough."

Android

Open the Google Docs app.

Open the document, tap the "Pencil" icon and then select the text you wish.

Tap on the "Format" icon at the top which you can find beside the left side of the "+" icon.

Now, under the "Text" section, you can see the options.

Tap B to make bold text.

Tap I​ to make italic text.

Tap U to make underline text.

Tap​ S to make strikethrough text.

Note:

Keep in mind that you can use the same steps to remove the formatting you've applied.

Also, remember that you can apply all the formatting discussed above in the same text.
