Log in to Facebook.
Click on the reverse triangle icon at the top right.
Hit Settings & privacy > Settings.
Click on “Videos” from the left sidebar.
There is a drop-down list next to “Auto-play Videos” on the right.
Open it and then select “Off.”
Note: To turn on autoplay, select On from the drop-down list.
Open the Facebook app.
Tap on the three horizontal lines at the top.
Hit Settings & Privacy > Settings > Media and Contacts.
Choose “Never Autoplay Videos” from the “Autoplay” section. If you want to know what each option in this section will do, then read on.
Launch Facebook for iPhone.
At the bottom, hit the three horizontal lines.
Tap Settings & Privacy > Settings > Video and Photos.
In the “Autoplay” section, you will find the following options:
- On Mobile Data and Wi-Fi – Autoplay on mobile data and Wi-Fi connection.
- On Wi-Fi Only – Autoplay on Wi-Fi connection only.
- Never Autoplay Videos – Disable autoplay.
Select the latter.
