How to Enable or Disable Automatic Updates in Firefox

In this post, we’ll see how to enable or disable automatic updates in Firefox. In this instance, I’m using Firefox 70.0b12 on Windows 10. Let’s get started.

Steps

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Hit Hamburger icon (three vertical lines) > Options.
  3. Under the “Firefox Updates” section, choose “Check for updates but let you choose to install them.”
  4. Also, uncheck “Use a background service to install updates” and “Automatically update search engines.”

To enable, follow these steps:

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Hit Hamburger icon (three vertical lines) > Options.
  3. Under the “Firefox Updates” section, choose “Automatically install updates (recommended).”
  4. Also, check “Use a background service to install updates” and “Automatically update search engines.”
