Steps to Disable Automatic Updates

  • Open Run Command.
  • In it, type “msconfig” (without double quotes) and then press the “Enter” key.
  • Now, navigate to the “Services” tab.
  • Find and uncheck “Google Update Service (gupdate)” and “Google Update Service (gupdatem)” options.
  • Hit the “Ok” button.
  • In the popup, hit the “Restart” button.

That’s it. All done.

To enable, follow the above steps and instead of unchecking the options, check them.
