How to Take a Screenshot on Android

In this post, we’ll see how to take a screenshot on Android. You can follow this post on both the rooted and non-rooted Android devices. Let’s get started.

Method #1

Press and hold the “Power” button until you see the Power menu.

Hit the “Screenshot,” which you can find under the “Restart” option.

Hit the “Save” option to save the screenshot to your device.

Press the “Volume down” and “Power” button simultaneously.

Hit the “Save” option to save the screenshot to your device.

Method #3

You can remap a capacitive button or volume button to take a screenshot on your device.

Method #4

If your Android device got “USB Debugging” enabled and your PC has ADB drivers installed, then you can try this method.

Steps

  1. Connect PC and Android device via USB cable.
  2. Open Command Prompt and change the path to the one that contains ADB drivers.
  3. Type the command: adb devices and hit the “Enter” key.
  4. If you see any popup on your Android device, hit “Ok” in it.
  5. Type the command: adb shell screencap /storage/emulated/0/s.png
  6. The /storage/emulated/0/ is the location where I want the screenshot to be stored, and s is the file name. Replace these as per your wish.
  7. Hit “Enter” key.

That’s it. Now, you can see the screenshot in the specified location on your Android device.
