Delete Learned Words on Android

Here, we’ll see how to delete an individual learned word, and all learned words from the keyboard (Gboard) on Android (I’m using Android Pie).

To Clear Individual Learned Word

Open WhatsApp (You can do this on the app you prefer).

Tap the Search icon at the top.

Begin typing the learned word that you want to remove and once you see it in the suggestions, long-press it.

Now, you can see the Trash can icon. Just drag that learned word and drop it in the Trash can icon.

To Delete All Learned Words

Open the Settings app.

Tap System > Languages & input > Virtual keyboard > Gboard > Dictionary.

Hit Delete learned words.

In the pop-up, enter the number that is shown to you. Hit Ok.

Add a Word or Phrase to Android Personal Dictionary

Open the Settings app.

Hit System > Languages & input > Advanced > Personal dictionary.

Tap the + icon at the top.

Now, type a word or phrase in the first field. In the second field, you can add a shortcut for the word or phrase that you’ve entered in the first field which is optional.

Here, I’m entering Hello Good Morning in the first field and its shortcut as gmh.

That’s it.

From now on, when I type gmh, the Hello Good Morning will be shown in the suggestions.

If I tap it, the gmh will be replaced by Hello Good Morning.

To Delete: Find and tap the one you like to delete and then hit the Trash can icon at the top.
