In this post, we’ll see how to create a folder on Android. In this instance, I’m using Android Pie. Let’s get started.

Table of Contents

Method #1

  1. Open the Files app. Tap “Browse” if you’re not in it already.
  2. Tap “Internal Storage” or your SD card, which you can find at the bottom. In this instance, I chose the former.
  3. Go to the location where you want a folder.
  4. Tap overflow menu (three vertical dots) > Add new folder.
  5. In the popup, provide a name for the folder and then hit the “Create Folder” button.

Method #2

  1. Install and open the File Explorer Root Browser app.
  2. Now, you’ll be in the “Internal Storage.” If you want to create a folder in the SD card, then you need to do this: tap Hamburger icon (three vertical lines) > Root Directory > storage > your SD card.
  3. Go to the preferred location in the Internal Storage or SD card.
  4. Tap + icon > New folder.
  5. In the popup, provide a name for the folder and then hit “Save.”

That’s it. All done.
