How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication on Your Amazon Account

You can enable two-factor authentication on your Amazon account to make it more secure.

    Install and open "Google Authenticator" app on your Android device.

    Tap "Begin" button in the app. Skip or go through the introduction.

    Go to the "Advanced Security Settings" page on your PC by clicking this link OR by clicking Your Account > Login & security > Edit button beside "Advanced Security Settings."

    Click on "Get Started" button.

    You can see the two ways to receive the code. Choose "Authenticator App."

    Now, tap on "Scan a barcode" option on your Android device. Provide permission for the app.

    After scanning the barcode, you can see a code on your Android device.

    Put it in the field on the PC and enter the "Verify code and continue" button.

    In the next screen, you can see some important information. Go through it and then click on "I got it. Please turn on the Two-Step Verification" button.

    Now, provide the password of your Amazon account, and you can see the "Almost done" screen again.

    Scroll down and click on "I got it. Please turn on the Two-Step Verification" button again.

That is all. The two-step verification is successfully enabled for your Amazon account.

Keep in mind that the mobile number in your account automatically becomes your backup method.

From now on, you can log into your account by entering your email address, password, and code from "Google Authenticator" app.

You can disable or make changes to the two-factor authentication at any time you want by visiting this URL.

Disable Two-Factor Authentication on Your Amazon Account

If you want to disable two-factor authentication, follow the below steps:

    Click on this URL and then click on "Disable" button.

    Enter the code from the "Google Authenticator" app and then provide your email address and password. Again, enter the code from "Google Authenticator" app.

    Now, you can see "Disable" popup. Read the message in it. If you want to clear your "Two-Step Verification" settings, then check the box in the popup. Otherwise, leave it intact. Click on "Disable" button.

That's it. The two-step verification is successfully disabled.
