Rename Amazon Fire TV Stick

Sign into your Amazon account. Hit three vertical lines at the top left. Hit Your Account.

Click on the “Content and devices” link. You can see the link in the “Digital content and devices” section.

Navigate to the “Devices” tab. Hit the button beside your Amazon Fire TV Stick.

Now, you can see a pop-up in which you can view the “Edit” link. Click on it. Give the name as per your liking and then hit the “Save” button.

That is all.

Delete Fire TV Stick Voice Recordings

Amazon stores all your Amazon Fire TV Stick voice searches on its servers.

Here, we will see the steps to delete voice recordings of Amazon Fire TV Stick. Let us start.

Sign into your Amazon account. Hit three vertical lines at the top left. Hit Your Account. Click on the “Content and devices” link. You can see the link in the “Digital content and devices” section.

Navigate to the “Devices” tab. Hit the button beside your Amazon Fire TV Stick. Click on the “Delete voice recordings” link.

Hit the “Delete” button in the confirmation pop-up.

That is all.

Note: There is no option to stop storing voice recordings on Amazon servers or clear recordings automatically. In short, all your future voice searches will be saved, and you need to delete it manually.

Uninstall an App on Amazon Fire TV Stick

Go to “Settings.” Hit “Applications.” Hit “Manage Installed Applications.” Hit the app you like to uninstall.

Now, hit the “Uninstall” option. In the confirmation screen, hit the “Uninstall” button.

Note: Remember that you can only uninstall the app you have installed.

Opt-out of Interest-based Ads

By default, interest-based ads are turned on in Amazon Fire TV Stick. If you like, you can opt out of it. Let us see how.

Go to “Settings.” Hit “Preferences.” Hit “Privacy Settings.” Hit “Interest-based Ads.”

Note: If you want to revert, follow the above steps.

Reset Advertising ID

You can reset your advertising ID in Amazon Fire TV Stick if you wish. Let us see how to do it.

Go to “Settings.” Hit “Preferences.” Hit “Privacy Settings.” Select Your Advertising ID. Click the “Menu” button in your remote.

Press the “Ok” button on the confirmation screen.

Navigation sounds, the ones that you hear when navigating or selecting, is enabled by default on Amazon Fire TV Stick.

If you dislike it, then you can turn it off and here’s how:

Go to “Settings.” Hit Display & Sounds > Audio. Hit “Navigation Sounds.”

That is all. It is turned off now.

Turn Off Screen Saver on Amazon Fire TV Stick

On Amazon Fire TV Stick, screen saver is by default turned on.

If you are not a fan of it, then you can turn it off. Let us see the steps.

Go to “Settings.” Hit Display & Sounds > Screensaver. Hit “Start Time.” Hit “Never.”

Sleep, Restart or Reset Amazon Fire TV Stick

Go to Settings. Hit My Fire TV.

For Sleep:

Select the “Sleep” option if you prefer to put Fire TV Stick to sleep. Remember that any button can wake up your Fire TV Stick.

An alternate method to sleep: Press “Menu” and “Home” buttons simultaneously and hold them for two seconds. Now you can see the “Sleep” option. Select it. Keep in mind that you can wake up using any button.

For Restart:

Select the “Restart” option if you prefer to restart. On the confirmation screen, select the “Restart” button.

An alternate method to restart: Press “Select” and “Play” buttons simultaneously and hold them for six seconds.

For Reset:

Select the “Reset to Factory Defaults” option if you prefer to reset. On the confirmation screen, select the “Reset” button. Keep in mind that this will remove all the personal data and downloaded content from Fire TV Stick.
