How to Add or Remove Frame from Your Facebook Profile Picture (2021)

You’ll learn how to add and remove a frame from your Facebook profile picture in this post.

Note that I am using a PC, Android, and an iPhone here. Let’s get started.

PC

Let’s see the steps to add a frame:

Sign in to your Facebook account.

Click on your name at the top.

Please click on your profile picture.

Select Add a Frame from the menu.

Find the one you like and hit it.

You can now view the preview.

If you want to switch back to your previous profile picture, then you need to set the duration from the drop-down menu at the bottom of the pop-up window.

The available ones are:

  • 1 Hour
  • 1 Day
  • 1 Week
  • 1 Month
  • Never
  • Custom (this one is for setting up a custom time)

Pick the one you prefer. You will be switched back to your previous profile picture when your chosen time has expired.

Choose Never from the drop-down menu if you don’t want to switch back to your previous profile picture.

Click the Use as Profile Picture button.

That’s all there is to it.

Follow these steps to remove the frame from your profile picture:

If you have set the frame’s duration, then you can follow these steps:

Click on your profile picture.

Hit “Switch to previous picture now.”

In the popup, click Confirm.

Follow these steps if you haven’t set the duration for the frame:

Click on your profile picture.

Click on Update Profile Picture.

Find and click on your desired picture.

Click the Save button.

To make your current profile picture permanent, follow these steps:

Hit your profile picture.

Click on “Keep as permanent picture.”

Hit Confirm in the popup.

That’s all.

Note: If you wish to change the duration you’ve set, then hit the profile picture, hit Change end date, change it as per your liking and then hit the Confirm button.

Android or iPhone

Let’s see the steps to add a frame:

Open the Facebook app.

Tap the three horizontal lines at the top if you’re on Android or the bottom if you’re on iPhone.

Please tap on your Facebook profile.

Tap your profile picture.

Select the Add Frame option.

Find the one you prefer and tap on it.

You can now see the preview and these options:

Frames (iPhone) or Edit Frame (Android) – This will take you to the Profile Frames screen, where you can choose the frame or remove the current frame.

Make Temporary – This lets you set the duration of the frame. Once it expires, the previous profile picture will be restored.

The available durations are: 1 Hour, 1 Day, 1 Week and Custom (this one is for setting custom time).

Uncheck “Share your update to News Feed” if you do not wish to add this update to your News Feed.

Hit the Save button at the top right.

Follow these steps to remove the frame:

If you have not set the duration for the frame, then follow these steps:

Tap your profile picture, then tap Select Profile Picture or Video (iPhone) or Select Profile Picture (Android).

Find and select your profile picture.

Tap the Save button at the top right.

That’s all there is to it.

If you have set the duration for the frame, follow these steps:

If you’re using Android, tap on your profile picture and then hit Switch to Previous Picture.

If you’re using an iPhone, tap on your profile picture and then hit Edit End Time.

You will now see these options:

  • Change end time – If you want to change the duration, you can use this option.
  • Switch to previous picture now – To remove the frame. Tap this option and then hit “Set” at the top right.
  • Keep as permanent profile picture – To set your current profile picture as a permanent profile picture.
